My rating is 3 for the restaurant & 5 for the store.
They have an amazing assortment of baking and cooking ingredients. Things that are hard to find for home/hobbyist bakers and cooks are readily available at reasonable prices in whatever quantities you need. Many commonly used goods are also availble in bulk. Much of the product line is organic or minimally processed. Very helpful and knowledgeable staff as well. There is a restaurant on site if you want to get a meal. It can be crowded, as some tourist busses stop there, but the staff manages it well.
Great place for breakfast. Different than the typical breakfast spot. Inside the store where they sell their own manufactured flour and baking goods. They serve breakfast and lunch. Cafeteria style. Order and they deliver to your table. Good food.
I had a "Belgian" waffle, which was too soft, and literally nothing but the waffle on a plastic plate. I should have ordered steak & eggs. They also stock a massive selection of products, which was impressive.
We love going here when in Portland. I stock up on grains, flour, oats. We always have breakfast. Killer grits, coffee is so good. The whole place smells like Christmas morning.
The food was good, but I wouldn't expect incredible food here. It was more about convenience than anything, although much better than a place like Shari's. Service wasn't bad, but bare bones and they weren't too busy.
Food was very good and extremely well priced! At $4-7 a plate, you really can't go wrong. And the patio is excellent. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm hosting a friend from out of town. A real hidden gem in the suburbs.
